It's still a kids game made for and designed for kids. An adult or an older teenager complaining about the designs for them is like a grown man complaining about MLP being too girly. Yes the designs look bad, but people have to remember the series is targeting kids which means cute and stupid designs are going to be a thing.

I don't find much of a problem with this, as their have been many worse designed ones before (plus I'm not into Pokemon). The article was somewhat amusing though.
