Action adventure games are a dime a dozen bro. The only thing that makes uncharted special is a big marketing campaign financed by sony. Same thing with kill zone and the fps genre.

Two makes there more than speakers.
Can't say I'm surprised. You'd think that 60 fps would/should be a standard by now, but for now it seems that devs either have the choice to make a glorious looking game that runs 30. Or a simple game that runs 60. Leaving out aesthetics, that is.

Only when that game is average in quality and is only relevant because of the money backing its marketing campaign. Just take a look at Destiny. If it didn't have a massive marketing campaign behind it it would have ended up just like Defiance. Mediocre and forgotten about a few months later.

except destiny is a mediocre game with mediocre review scores and uncharted is a critically acclaimed game with fantastic review scores

There's nothing comparable on PC that comes close to uncharted in quality

That's because the image I used is low-res, Remedy has not released any images of comparative quality to the Drake images-which sucks

You know what else is critically acclaimed? Halo 4 and Call of Duty. VGAs don't mean shit and the only reason to even pay attention to them is for trailers and reveals.

Tons of games get passed over every year by them because they aren't made by big name studios or financed by one of the big publishers. Just look at games like Armored Core, great games that are loved by the niche they fill, however they'll never win any awards because reviewers for the most part are to casual to get into them and thus they get low scores and dismissed by the big media outlets. These are people that think games like L4D2 are hard and a pokemon game based on the abundance of water has to much fucking water.

You see the same thing with PC gaming. Most review outlets are console based and therefore will not touch PC gaming unless it's a major title being released like StarCraft or Diablo.

Spoiler
Considering Uncharted is pretty average, yeah there's a lot on PC that's similar in quality. This is literally a prototype vs infamous debate. Both games are practically the same however because one doesn't have Sony branding on it it's automatically inferior.

I would like to add to the record that the InFamous series has a 2/3.5 track record for great games while Prototype has one great game and is a dead franchise.

because they don't reduce or dilute the quality of the original game

prototype was... super lame

i know that's because there aren't any, but

-Well Star Citizen made $2,134,374 off just its Kickstarter, and probably much more from their website donations after the Kickstarter donation period ended.  I'm sure plenty of people consider that "worth playing"
-Starcraft
-Civilization
-League of Legends and DOTA.  I'd say LoL is probably "worth playing" if 27 million people play it per day
-MMOs like WoW, Runescape, Tera, Archage, etc...
-Kerbal Space Program
-Insurgency

A lot of multiplatform games also have much more content on PC
-Battlefield 3 could support twice as many players, which also allowed maps to have larger versions
-Payday 2 has tons of free DLC on PC that doesn't even exist on consoles.
-Minecraft has bigger and better worlds with more content + the most recent updates, and you don't have to pay out the ass to customize your character or install a texture pack, because they're basic files you can DL from the internet or make yourself.
-CS:GO is a joke on anywhere that isn't PC

And lets not forget that you can play multiplatform games like Assassins Creed Unity and not have to be stuck dealing with the game dropping to 10 FPS.

Finally, if you're going to go on rants that belittle anyone who is paying way too much attention to anything graphically related, and how you really don't care, then it'd be pretty hypocritical of you to ignore the PC indie market, where the most common deterrent is the art team, but there's fucktons of creativity that doesn't have to be funneled through bullshit publisher policies.

PC definitely has a lack of some gems, like Halo, Uncharted, Infamous, Last of Us, etc... and that's exactly why I own and enjoy my Xbone and PS4, but to wave off every strength that a PC has because it doesn't appeal to you specifically is just being an ignorant little fanboy.

Prototype was a good game, but it was pretty graphic and crude for the time. It did do some neat things with the story and the mechanics were solid though. Second game managed to have arguably better gameplay but an unlikable protagonist, a boring story, and they completely destroyed Alex's character.

InFamous was a fantastic game. InFamous 2 was great, it was a perfect sequel: it didn't try to "revamp" the system, it improved upon what the first game did and offered more fluid controls. Story was also great, the ending was well handled I thought.

Then came along Second Son and said "lol that only affected the east coast". All the powers were just differently balanced versions of the same moves and the story was way too short. The way they handled Evil Delsin was terrible too, he was truly awful as a character. I'd give it a "pay no more than $25 for".

First Light was a "standalone expansion", and it managed to be worse than SS in two ways: power options and story. I realize she can't change powers like Delsin, but they could have beefed up her arsenal a shit ton to make up the difference. And the story was so bad; so bad that I don't want to write a novel detailing just why it's terrible on every level.

I didn't bring them up, LC mentioned them when arguing that the only reason Uncharted is a "good" game is because it's well advertised and it has Sony's backing. Said that Prototype and InFamous are basically the same game, but InFamous is seen as better because it has the Official Sony Seal of Approval.

Unless I misinterpreted that bit.

PC's strong points are the indie community and the improved ports it gets. In terms of exclusivity, it doesn't have much.

I don't care for indies generally, but there are some diamonds in the rough. In the way of exclusives, that's pretty much what PC has: Papers Please, Starbound, Anno 2070, Age of Wonders III, and Assetto Corsa (although half of those aren't indie, just "small".)

Good Indie game, insanely profitable Indie game, city-sim that's miles better than SimCity, RTS game, racing game that's prized on the physics and graphics.
