Wii U or Nintendo Switch?

Been wanting to pick up Zelda but I don't have a current enough console. Since Switch is the newest one and there's not that much of a price difference, I should probably get that but I've been hearing there's all kinds of problems with it. What would you guys recommend?

If you want a system right now go for the WiiU, cheaper, you can play Zelda BoTW and there's an array of other games at a reduced price. There's nothing majorly wrong with the Switch but you should wait a few months either for a price drop, more games or a revised edition.

Honestly, the Switch. Yeah, the only game on it is Zelda, but for what you're going to spend on the Wii-U, it just doesn't make sense to buy one when the Switch is going to be supported with a ton of its games. What does the Wii-U have? Smash, Mario Kart, HD Zeldas, and a few other niche first-party titles? If you hold out long enough, I'm sure all of those will be on the Switch. Mario Kart 8 is confirmed next month, Bandai was rumoured to be porting Smash Bros. to the Switch, and there are rumours of Gamecube games being added to the Virtual Console. I can't justify it just yet because I already own a Wii-U and Zelda and like Verb suggested I'm waiting for there to be at least 3 new (un-owned) games on the console that interest me before I commit (likely being Yooka-Laylee, Pokémon Stars, and Super Mario Odyssey).

I've seen and played the Switch in person and it's like something we used to fantasise about as kids -- it's essentially a portable Xbox 360. I don't want to oversell it but I honestly believe its a game changer.
