With the Xbone we know they wanted to screw over a lot of people and be complete control freaks. The PS4 is having games like that Final Fantasy MMO and War Thunder meanwhile the Xbone is missing out because MS doesn't want cross play with the PC. No Mans Sky so far isn't coming to the system because of that retarded indie game policy of theirs. So why are they so anti-consumer? It's like they want people to abandon their system and go over to the PS4.

We always say to fight fire, you must use fire. This is wrong. Fighting fire with fire will leave scars and a new flame will rise. We must instead use water. It is the opposite of fire, it extinguishes the fire, it cools, it refreshes, it heals. We are made up of 70% water, we are not made up of 70% fire. Please practice what we truly are
Windows 10 is coming and that'll address some of the issues for cross play.

contrary to what you think, microsoft is actually the most for-consumer company out of the big 3. their copyright policy alone proves this, they let you create whatever content you'd like from their work, fan art, games, videos, whatever you want, and in the case of youtube videos you can fully monetize your work so long as you don't mislead the consumers of your content into thinking said content was made by microsoft.

cross play IS being created between the xbone and pc, it's a feature of windows 10, and the only remotely bad policy they currently have is their indie policy, and even then that isn't exactly a bad thing for the consumer, just for the people making the game. for the xbox consumer, the parity clause makes sure that any indie games they get a hold of are on the xbone first, that's good for microsoft's consumers.

This is pretty much correct barring a couple things.

The first being that MS was the first of the big 3 to actually do cross platform gaming. However console players were getting owned so hard by PC gamers (to the point where they claimed it was embarrassing when a bunch of average PC gamers beat a team of "pro" console gamers in testing) that they decided to cease making cross platform games for the 360.

Second the ID@Xbox program only applies to people who want MS to fund them in the way of giving them free support and dev kits. I'm not sure how this got spun into MS hates indies because that's a pretty reasonable policy. If you want MS to essentially invest in you they need some assurance that their investment won't go to waste on a port that may never come and release parity is a way to assure them that they'll get what they invested in.

Well, opening up Xbox Live to cross-platform play could open up a window of new security vulnerabilities. XBL, unlike PlayStation Network, has never had any major data breach occur, at least that we know of. That's a major selling point for the Xbox right now, even though Microsoft is too smart to tout it (because doing so would just be taunting hackers, as Sony has learned in the past).
