Why is it so good?

I know the gameplay is a little clunky, but its not exactly that terrible as people make it out to be.

That is something I enjoyed a lot about the game.

Just wish you can carry more items. I always end up with like 2523542 ammo types I don't want.

I really don't think Mass Effect has aged well.

It feels plodding and boring. Maybe I've played through it too much.

ME3 was pretty meh. The gameplay was good but they took out most of the RPG elements and exploration to be done. (Seriously, only one hub world?). It was more of a third person shooter with dialogue choices at this point.

I like it because to me it was more about exploration than action. I like those side missions on the planets and the elevator talking. In Mass Effect 2 instead of improving those exploration or whatever side missions they remove them and replace it with a even more repetitive mining thing. I also like that there's more armors and weapons. Like the user above said it was more of an RPG game.

Everything about it just seemed "bigger" than the later games. I prefer RPGs over shooters anyway, so that explains why I like it more.

Fucking wut, ME2 was basically just a mindless 3rd person shooter, at least 3 returned some of the rpg elements and exploration.. What you said is true about 2 though, it was so shallow in comparison-it's only good point was that it fixed combat

I thought the first game's story was the cheesiest, but the game felt more like an RPG than any of the others. Shooting mechanics were clunky as fuck, though.

I liked ME2 the best. I didn't feel like an overglorified space hero, but rather as some badass private eye. Plus, all the work I put into establishing good relations with my crew did more than change the color of the ending.

Because it's the first game and it was all new and stuff. Plus it felt a lot bigger regarding side missions.
