Why has Nintendo been so retarded for the last 3 console generations?

With the Gamecube they designed the system to play discs that are smaller than DVD's. Because of that they greatly hindered the 3rd party games that could have went to it. Meanwhile the Xbox and PS2 are sharing games like GTA Nintendo was missing out on them due to stupidity.

Instead of realizing that hardware hinders your system they did the same thing with the Wii. They ended up making a system that's all gimmick and no hardware. So once again Nintendo is missing out on games that the Xbox and PlayStation has been sharing since the previous gen and new games as well. Sure the Wii sold above 100million but I still consider the system stupidity when they do the same mistake as the Gamecube.

With the WiiU they did have more of a hardware jump than what the Wii to the Gamecube is, but it's still weak. Due to the hardware they are once again for the 3rd time going to be missing out on games that Xbox and PlayStation have been sharing and going to be sharing. When it comes to sales we know the Wii U is doing badly, but Nintendo doesn't do anything about it. One way they could greatly sale the system is by having Pokemon games for it.If they make a game like this they would be pushing out systems.

The game would be a large open world game that's a cross between GTA and The Elder Scrolls world wise. There would be the towns and cities for the gyms along with other towns and cities for supplies and quest. For the wild Pokemon it would be TES and Fallout style. You would see Pokemon in the wild doing their thing and they might attack you or ignore you. For the combat it would be traditional turn base and real time where you are able to play as your Pokemon. You are able to do your 4 moves in real time. For the fighting space it can be the same style as Star Ocean The Last Hope, You fight in a large area that's deigned around your environment that's large enough to fight in. Something like this could save the Wii U.

Really why has Nintendo been shit for these last 3 gens? When I watch AVGN videos Nintendo was making systems that are able to compete with their competitors hardware wise which allowed them to share the same 3rd party games. But now they are making weak systems that hinders the games they are able to get. Why have they been doing this shit?

And yet Nintendo, despite all these "retarded" moves, are still pushing enough sales to be competitive, and pushing 1080p/60FPS on all their big games on the console. They KILLED it with the Wii, out selling every other console on the market by a good 30 million or so. They've also got the mobile gaming market eating out of their hand. They're doing what they love to do rather than be competitive because they know that third party games aren't the reason you get a nintendo console, and that they have the money to keep doing what they do for a long time.

So because you don't like what they make they're retarded? The only legitimate complaint you had was GameCube disks

That doesn't even make sense.

Most AAA these days are half made with cut day 1 DLC.

Just look at how much content is in the new Smash Bros. compared to Destiny.

this so much

nintendo is pretty much the clear winner of the console wars the last decade, and theyre dominating the non-smartphone handheld market.

You will find out who you are not a thousand times, before you ever discover who you are. I hope you find peace in yourself and learn to love instead of hate.
just because the console doesn't suit your tastes doesn't make it a fail.

The reason they're missing out on most multipats is because they didn't go x86.

Nintendo was founded in 1889. There are very few companies founded in 1889 that are still around today. They also saved the industry from collapse in the 80s. They're going to be more conservative than the other console brands.

Frankly I'm glad they're being weird and doing their own thing. Sometimes its hit or miss, but throughout their history they've innovated far more than the other two brands have.

I can buy a playstation or an xbox for my big budget hardcore games and multipats. People buy Nintendo consoles for their exclusives and unique experiences. Last thing I would want is for Ninty to copy and paste the other two.

I agree, and I honestly think Nintendo would do WORSE if they tried to make a console to compete with the Xbox/Ps at this point. They have their market and they run the show when it comes to handhelds.

A $500 Nintendo console with all teh CoDs and Battlefields would not sell for shit. That's not their audience.
Nor should it be.

Nintendo hasn't competed with MS and Sony since gen 6 where they completely got BTFO by the newcomer MS. They did so poorly that they ended up marketing the GC as your backup console instead of your main one

Last gen Ninty went after a completely different audience instead of catering to the core gamer one and it worked.

Think MS and Apple for the computer market. Those two companies may sell similar products, but they're tailored to two completely different markets.

Well, kind of. The fact that the WiiU is barely more powerful than tne 360 is the main reason if anything.

You don't buy a Nintendo console for mulri-plats. And they're not even competing with the mainstream market like Sony and MS are.

World At War on the Wii was 60 bucks. Literally no zombies and 1 less mission. Why should I pay extra for less?

The mini-discs on the GameCube were awesome. They were a robust and long-term solution to piracy which was rampant for past generations of consoles. In addition, the size required data to be compressed and this meant loading times were significantly smaller than on PS2 or Xbox. It also meant the discs would snap less.

We always say to fight fire, you must use fire. This is wrong. Fighting fire with fire will leave scars and a new flame will rise. We must instead use water. It is the opposite of fire, it extinguishes the fire, it cools, it refreshes, it heals. We are made up of 70% water, we are not made up of 70% fire. Please practice what we truly are
The Nintendo train will flop soon, don't you worry. They may have the better financial success, but when it comes to leaving something for history to remember, they have nothing on Sony or Microsoft. Almost everyone I know has a Wii, but they never use it. They are either on the Xbox, the PS, their phone, or they just forgot about Nintendo all together.

are you serious? are you ACTUALLY serious? Nintendo is a god damn icon, and their characters are known worldwide and BEYOND the gaming industry. Mario is a household name, and Pokemon is known by all, in what world is generic space soldier #19937 and Laura Croft clone #48 more memorable than a nintendo icon?

Ah yes, Mario and Pokemon.. Two franchises that have been milked into an oblivion. They make Call of Duty: Advance Warfare look like the new boys in town again (And that crap, along with Battlefield will soon join their fate). All those titles you mention are junk man. They've been used and abused and practically forgotten.

I know.. the truth hurts, makes you even want to cry inside. But Nintendo is lacking more originality in their games. Have they created any new iconic characters in the past four years? Or are they still waiving their Kirby dicks and using characters that are 10+ years old in new games?

Actually it was 50, because every Wii game retailed at 50.

But is WaW a good example of a Wii game? 3rd party support was shit. I agree. But are you telling me the games you buy the Wii for are lacking content?

Smash Bros. Brawl
Mario Galaxy 1&2
Mario Kart Wii
Donkey Kong Country Returns
Xenoblade Chronicles
Metroid Prime 3
TLoZ: TP
TLoZ: SS
Zack and Wiki
The Last Story
Sin and Punishment
Animal Crossing: City Folk
Muramasa
Kirby

These are the Wii exclusives that I can name from my head. These are the Wii exclusives that I have played and loved. If you're a filthy casual then yeah, maybe the Wii is ass.

if you actually believe that both Nintendo and Mario are going anywhere anytime soon, you'd have to be retarded, for three reasons;

 1. Nintendo literally has enough money to be making games for the next 50 years, even if they run at a 15 million dollar loss every single year.

2. Mario, and Pokemon are icons that's up there with real life heroes of the people,

3. Pokemon has a TV show, and is a killer app for Nintendo's handheld systems, and despite how much you hate that they're successful, and how much you hate nintendo despite their history of pushing out fun franchises for everyone, and their love for making games rather than appealing to the lowest common denominator, like most modern devs, they're gonna stay here as long as they still love the games they're pushing out.

If you think Nintendo would be stupid enough to retire Pokemon, or Mario's franchise at this point, for something as minuscule as a single console flopping in it's first couple years, you're going to have another thing coming.
