Why does Street Fighter resort to this?

From what I can tell, it's the most advanced and competitive fighter on the market. Saying that I don't understand why it has to resort to cheap boob and ass shots like this. It can stand on it's own two legs as a fighter.

Mortal Kombat got rid of this shit for the most part and their game is more about gore and violence than competition.

I mean sure there's a few buyers like that, but the fans of the series are fans of the series for the combat, not the tits.

I feel like Japanese devs are starting to sort of culturally fall behind Western devs--and as much as I'm hyped for MGS V, at least part of it feels behind the times:

Fans aren't necessarily the mouthbreathers I'm referring to, it's the audience they want to cater to - to get them to buy the game.

The same kind of people who buy alcohol because the commercial had bewbs in it.

Or in simple terms, sex sells - unfortunately.

It was inevitable tbh. Respected Jap devs taking a huge downturn lately and catering to the loser base of gamers. Probably because they haven't been churning out anything good lately and they're trying to increase profits.

There was something either yutaka or byrne said the other day about how an MMO was saved (financially) by adding swimsuit skins or something to that effect because of the sheer amount of shite that the japs bought to do with the skins.

Which isn't an uncommon theme when you look at how japanese merchandising goes.

If you want to appeal to the west, add gore.
If you want to appeal to the east, add bewbs.
