Yes, because the gaming industry needs more hipster pet project indie games. Like Steam isn't already flooded with those.
No one's talking about hipster pet project indie games. The indie scene is rife with unoriginality and laziness--that's why so many of them are trying to cash in on the 8-bit retro-craze right now--because it's easy. It's not creative.

So, yeah, that's not relevant.

And besides, even with the 8-bit crap, there's still diamonds in the rough here and there.
This Undertale game is getting rave reviews.

Not the full game. I was skeptical at first, but the whole concept is actually pretty cool, I think, so I think I might have to purchase it sometime.

I've played it a bunch, I love it

Honestly one of my favourite games I've ever played

/shilling

It's a fantastic example of a creative indie game, 8bit graphics aside

Here, listen to the theme I've been obsessing over. I think it mixes 8bit and modern sounds so well together that it doesn't just come off as another generic 8bit song.

Most of the music in the game is pretty great

I almost feel like posting some of the songs is a spoiler though, like you need to experience it for the first time in game

If you can't see the difference you are blind.

And before anyone says it, yes I know FFVII-IX have 15 FPS battles, it doesn't mean it's acceptable.

His eyebrows sparkling, his white beard hangs down to his chest. The thatched mats, spread outside his chise, spread softly, his splendid attos. He polishes, cross-legged, his makiri, with his eyes completely absorbed.

He is Ainu.

The god of Ainu Mosir, Ae-Oine Kamuy, descendant of Okiku-Rumi, He perishes, a living corpse. The summers day, the white sunlight, unabrushed, ends simply through his breath alone.
60fps is objectively best
Knack would have been better if it was 1080/30. Maybe it would have had more than three enemies on screen at one time.

Knack wasn't capped. It sat in the 30's mostly and dropped below 20 a lot.

Yeah, and if it was made with 30fps in mind instead of 60fps, then it would have been all the better for it. Right off the bat, a stable framerate would have been nice.

60fps is nice, for most genres, when there's room. Populating the game world vs high framerate is a common tradeoff; I'd rather have the former than the latter.

My bad then, I could have sworn Knack was one of the launch PS4 games that advertised 1080/60. What was the point of not aiming for a stable framerate? 14-60fps is much worse than 20-30.

Second Son's framerate doesn't look like a sine-wave tho
