If it's the Cortana that died in Halo 4 then I'll be annoyed.
If it's a new Cortana (like Cortana mentioned in H4), then I'll be fine with that, and it'll be interesting to see how it affects Chief and how differently they interact with each other.

It will feel as if there's no consequences, and would negate the Halo 4 ending scene. I think of it this way: with the pain Chief felt over losing her, he will do anything he can to protect Halsey (and possibly Blue Team) in Halo 5.

I don't think they will. I think that she'll come back eventually, in some form, but H5 is too soon for her to just nullify the attempts to give Chief some more depth that they worked so hard to set up.

they would probably, if they did revive her somehow, give him a new cortana that is just like cortana in almost every way in terms of computing power and appearance, but is completely robotic and nothing like cortana was before. chief would have to deal with this and we would see the interaction.

It could be used to possibly explain Chief going rogue apparently. Him and Halsey make a bad-guy team.

Continue to laugh at the heap of frankenstein garbage hola lore has become.

If I were them I'd make another small atmospheric game (ala ODST) based around an elite main character that explores the Sangheili home world/culture. Back to basics.

Instead they'll keep zombifying the same characters into more outlandish ridiculous plots.
