Looking back at this now, I cannot wrap my head around why Activision ordered Bungie to cut out so many things out of this build for the final game, they had everything all setup. And if it wasn't Activison and was Bungie's idea, I don't get why.

Also.... $500 million dollars was a fuck load of money, they made their money back but still. Can someone tell me what was wrong with this?

I don't hate what we have now for Destiny, but it went from "Hey, this is probably going to be a good game" to "Meeehhh, it has no story but still a better love story than twilight."

Don't you just hate it when all the good shit gets cut?

That build looks so much better than the final product...and bosses dropping loot that you can equip right away? That's what the game needed instead of going back to the Tower to the Cryptarch.

All the concept works and vidocs are like that. Demos are done on Xbox Ones/PS4s I imagine and have the visuals kicked up for that.

I agree actually. Even on PS4 the game still feels very limited and incomplete.

This happens all the time.

I'm now surprised when Devs actually fulfill promises made at E3/tech demos, though I rarely see that from any AAA games (though CoD fulfills it's promises...by being the same, so it's not that great).

I haven't been excited for a game for a long time.
Abd this is why I barely care about gaming journalism and reviews...if their source is biased and some of the reviewers themselves are biased, there is no way to tell if a game is going to be decent until after release.

Why is this so black?
This reminds me of the Halo 2 E3 Demos the Joe Staten did. This Bungie seems so much different then the one we have now. It was always fun watching the Bungie vidocs for their games and seeing what they were up too. Because unlike most developers Bungie had personality. Now Bungie is just another triple A dev. Lazy and out for money.

That's what happened to Lionhead Studios before it happened to Bungie. Perhaps, the truth is, the more involved you get with an AAA publisher, the more of your soul is sold to the capitalistic Gods. (EA also tends to offer sacrifices and money baths)

The problem with Lionhead was that Peter Molyneux would always promise way more than what Lionhead could actually deliver.

I wouldn't even say the video is what Destiny was supposed to be like. When you look at the concept arts you see concepts for a completely different looking game. I know the concepts usually turn out different from the final game but in the case of Destiny it's like they were making a different game at first and then changed it. The one concept image for Destiny is a space battle which implies Destiny was going to have them.

Finding and immediately equipping an exotic LMG during the intro for the purposes of showing shit off?  That one line of dialogue from crow out of some random out of context clips that are thrown together?  I see literally nothing to support that all the good stuff was cut.

Also fun fact the Halo 2 E3 demo was a hacked together mess and had little to nothing to do with the actual game
