I'm always going to recommend Astro headsets. You can get the a40 with the mixamp for about the same price with the added benefit of it being compatible with both consoles and PC. Been using it for years and I am still happy with them. Friend of mine has been using a ~$200 Turtle Beach headset and he also thinks the Astro sounds much better.

Anyways, to my knowledge Sennheiser is a decent brand and almost all headsets in the $250+ provide great sound quality, are comfy to wear and all that other important stuff. So go for it anyways.

Personally a fan of Audio Technicas with a Yeti Blue for PC gaming.  The only thing is you need to make sure your mic doesn't pick up your keyboard.

I'm buying my first pair of gaming headphones right now. Currently going with these, the Sennheiser 360 Special Edition. Opinions?

This is what I personally use.

They're actually pretty damn good for $20. Though if you want to burn $200, that's on you. Also, these headphones are good for the Xbone as well.

Got them for $95 and they work on the Xbone just the same. :)

Oh. Okay.

Oh. Okay.
They'll be for music around the house too. My old ones are kind of dying on me after almost 8 years, so this will be nice.

And it should work with consoles too. The comments about it not working are from 2013 when the first model launched. The 2015 version comes with an adapter so you can use it on any 3.5mm slot, including ps4 and xbox one.

Well I'm glad that you got it for $95. Maybe I might buy those later on, but right now I'm happy with my current ones.
