Paper Mario and Derpstiny the last couple of days for me.

Really liking Paper Mario. Grabbed for $2 off the eshop. Didn't realize it was such a spiritual successor to Super Mario RPG. The level up screen is almost exactly carried over. Feel like I need to play TTYD now.

Been picking up Destiny off and on since I was dumb enough to get teh digital launch edition. Feel like I need to get at least some of my moneys worth. Really craving a good fps right now, but the choices are pretty limited if you're not looking for military shooters. $:-\$

Paper Mario and TTYD are amazing games. Series takes a nose-dive from there.

I've been playing a bit of BF4 since they got a huge patch recently, ESO, Mortal Kombat X, Witcher II, a bit of DA:Inquisition, MCC for the new update, and a bit of (and a lot more than I'm proud of) Density when my friend needs me.

That's what I've been hearing. Might just have to end up emulating it if they don't bring it to virtual console. Figure they won't be making a new one for the Wii U. Maybe for whatever the NX ends up being.

Thought about sticker star for 3ds, but haven't been hearing good reviews.

Don't bother with anything past TTYD. Super Paper Mario dropped the RPG elements and made it into a lame platformer instead. People like it, but I don't care, I thought it sucked. Sticker Star isn't worth it either.

I just bought a 3DS and Alpha Sapphire earlier today so I'm playing that right now!

3d pokemon game oh my gosh so cooool

I've also been playing some Dragon Age Origins and Sins of a Solar Empire lately too

The big ones are:
-They added 5 new guns.
-They reworked the way the weapons handle (and it's pissing me off): they nerfed tap-firing, so your reticle doesn't re-center itself as quickly when you tap the trigger. They played a lot with recoil, suppression, falloff, and the damage model on all guns.
-Bullets fired used to be spawned from your head, now they're spawned a bit lower. This essentially eliminates "head-glitching", aka where the tip of someone's head is barely visible behind cover, but they're shooting over the cover at you.
-Spamming Q (or whatever your spot button is) doesn't just blindly spot everything on your screen as easily.
-Stability fixes
-Netcode improvements
-HUD is more customizable: you can change the color of your dot-sights, reticles, hit-markers + headshot hit-markers + kill hit-markers, etc...
-Added Gunmaster gametype. The server can customize what kind of guns are used.

Yeah, it's pretty poorly designed. It's a very colorful, animated, and interesting world, but the game is bogged down by shit combat mechanics and assumptive design, plus it pretty much trashed every RPG element from the original and TTYD. The combat is strictly based off the one-time-use items that you collect or buy.

The game assumes the player is going to automatically know to bring EXTREMELY specific items with them to solve certain puzzles, or to fight bosses. On top of that, or it assumes the player will know to find those specific items by backtracking to extremely specific levels. You end up having to tediously repeat sections and an-hero to bosses to figure out what to bring next time. Some of the puzzles are also plain unintuitive: you need to melt a pile of snow, but instead of bringing the matches or the lighter, you're supposed to grab the radiator. It's really off putting, and can make the game feel like a chore at times.

ahh platinum. that was actually the 1st pokemon game i actually bought myself when it came out. all the games prior to that were either a) my brothers or b) a gift

i still have the pre-order bonus giratina figure which imo looks badass

im sad that they didnt keep doing figures after hg/ss (i have the ho-oh figure as well) i would have definitely liked having a reshiram/yveltal/whatever else

The first one I bought was Pearl, I traded it and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time in for Platinum

i wish i didnt trade in my mystery dungeon that game was great

I've played all the gens before Gen IV though, I just haven't played Gen V or VI yet

Are old DS games compatible with the 3DS?
