Why not something a little newer?I've been replaying Dark Souls lately, so I'd recommend that just because it's on my mind and it's a solid game that has aged well. Oblivion's pretty great, though. It aged terribly.

Combat was also a step up from Morrowind, but it's still feels weird compared to modern games. It feels like you're slashing at nothing. Though it was at the forefront of fast travel and helped set the stage for modern sandbox games, so that will feel familiar.
