Wait, really? I thought it would be just a HD port like OOT.

You can save whenever you want, negating the 3 day time limit that the original had.

I'm indirectly quoting what others have said. I've never played the game, so I can't give a direct explanation as to why it's been casualized, but what I said above is what I've heard from people who played the original.

I don't see how that negates it, really.

You've heard wrong. I've never played the original, so I have nothing to compare it to.

If someone here has, ask away. Maybe I can clear some things up.

Nope

You can save whenever you want meaning that time is no longer of the essence as you no longer have to backtrack to a save point to save your progress. The bosses have been made easier, all of the bosses have also been given giant glowing weakpoints for you to hit, the layout of clocktown and some other places was apparently redone in order to make it easier to navigate, and there's some more shit that escapes me at the moment.

Spoiler
To make it more clear on what I mean by saving at any time, I mean that they added a shit ton of more owl statues to the game. Meaning you won't spend a few of your precious in game hours backtracking if you need to save. This also means that the dungeons are easier since you no longer have to do them in essentially one go.

As I said before, I haven't played the original so I can't make a compariosion myself.

Depends what you mean by "whenever." You can still only save at designated locations, though you are allowed to fast travel between certain ones, meaning you an effectively save whenever, assuming you're not in a dungeon.
And I don't see how it negates the timer since it's always counting down. If you fast travel to a previous save point then you still have to make your way back to where you were previously. If timer runs out all your progress is lost.

I haven't noticed anything like this so far, though saying that I have only just finished the swamp temple.

I don't give a shit if they casualized it, Majora's Mask was my precious baby back in the day and nothing is going to stop me from enjoying a classic game.

Read my edit. They placed a shit ton of more owl statues in the game. Part of this means that you're essentially no longer required to do the main dungeons in one go. Thus making the game much easier as you aren't spending precious in game hours backtracking to get to your save point.

Oldowa had a big eye put in the center of his chest as a weak point. He didn't use to have one. Every other boss has been given the same treatment and the fish boss was made significantly easier on top of that.

If you're casual and can't manage your 72 hours correctly it is.

point being--it's not like the game is that "hardcore" to begin with
i really just don't see what you are   whining   about.

I read the edit, and fair enough, but even then owl statues are still few and far. There's a grand total of 2 in the swamp district, including woodfall.
I assume it would be the same for every other area. It makes navigation more convenient when you're trying to finish off side quests, which you can't all do in one go, along with the main temple.

As for Oldowa, nothing was immediately obvious, with exception to the big fucking eye on his head, but that's just your typical Zelda boss. Nothing else stood out.
Maybe you're more observant, having run through the game already. Obviously it's going to be a breeze for anyone who has played it previously.

i really just don't see what you are   whining   about.

Uhuh, yeah, sure you did. In the extremely remote chance you're yelling the truth. Why would you be arguing in favor of removing skill, difficulty, and depth from a game?

because it wasn't difficult at all in the first place
it required no skill whatsoever

i only needed a guide twice--to get the stupid frog hat, and find the invisible guard
everything else was pure intuition--you don't have to believe me, because it has no bearing on the truth

why would i lie about something so petty anyway

regardless, it's such a petty, whiny thing to complain about
you're talking about what is basically a kid's game here

all the game's depth was in the story and the sidequests, and you fucking know it

absolutely nothing is preventing you from beating dungeons the "hardcore" way--NOTHING
they just decided to give those who don't have as much time to waste some leeway

what is wrong with that? nothing

you're just a fucking idiot having one of his "fucking idiot" moments

why not complain about the fact that you can pause the game and close the 3DS, effectively doing the same thing, especially if you have it plugged in

or is sleep mode for casuals, too
