What's your stance on Microsofts purchase of Minecraft?

With game mods? Yes.

The most that I think will come from this is Minecraft updates being side by side with PC and Xbox, and maybe PS getting the updates a little late. That is the worst, but people will still blow this shit out of the water.

Graphic mods break the lore.

Skyrim has lots of lore friendly graphic mods.

No, you don't seem to get it.

There are NO lore-friendly mods.

Even graphic-enhancing mods break the lore, in the sense that the graphics of the game pre-modification were just how the universe looked. That's literally how it is in the game's little universe.

Changing how that looks is changing how the entire game's universe looks.
Which, to me, is unacceptable.

That seems pretty ridiculous. So games with sequels (let's take elder scrolls for example) break the lore everytime a new art style comes into play, or that they have higher res textures with the new games?

No, because they're not mods. And if they are mods, they were developed, published, licensed, all that shit. It's called "canon". What's canon is acceptable. What isn't canon? Bad.

What qualifies as non-canon?
1. Anything the writers deem so...
2. Anything fan created (mods. All of them).

I would love to see Microsoft bring mods to the Xbox versions, and if not full mods, then at least allow us to download more custom skin and texture packs, not just the shitty ones they can sell.

I would love for them to include shader packs, even if they cost $4.99. Feels weird playing Minecraft without them.
