I don't care much for the needler anyway, to be honest. Too often has my death been the result of the needles taking far too long to detonate. I rarely use it.

I love the Shotgun in general (another reason I want to play as Kelly in Halo 5), but it's especially great in Halo CE. Otherwise, I really like the Plasma Rifle

What's your general opinion of Halo lore/ story, based off what you've read us talking about? Is it something you'd be interested in learning more about or do you think it's a load of crap?

I mean, I generally prefer the books to the games because they 9 times out of 10 have far better writing.

The story has always been crappy

Yeah. Halo CE is very much self-contained. The trilogy very much works like Star Wars - the original was self-contained but left things open, then 2 and 3 act more as a duo with one leading directly after the other. And the third one being pretty bad compared to the second.

Plus, Bungie held a policy that game canon trumps expanded universe so tha caused a fuck ton of inconsistencies and retcons in their era. 343 is now planning the series around book/ comic releases and everything ties in a lot better.

All right, let's try to get this game all finished by tonight!... No promises. If not today, then tomorrow for sure.

As some of you noticed, I didn't really care much for Two Betrayals. I won't repeat myself too much, but the level itself being a repeat of Assault on the Control Room wasn't really all that appealing to me. I think the added dynamic of having the Flood and the covenant fighting each other is interesting, considering they don't just fight endlessly--they actually kill each other, too.

Knowing that, when entering a skirmish, you can literally just wait until one side wins and then run in and kill whoever remains, or sneak into the crossfire and try to reach certain spots while your enemies are distracted by each other. Stuff like that is pretty cool to me, and even though I feel a little bit cheap doing that, it's all part of the game, if you ask me. It's fun thinking on your feet and strategizing in the thick of battle.

Keyes was a much better level, even though the second half is basically the second half of the Truth & Reconciliation all over again. Only this time, again, the Flood is present, and my god... there's so many of them... It was pretty challenging not to get completely overwhelmed by them, and honestly, it was almost a joy seeing my old Covenant friends again. At some point, I expect the humans and the covenant to put aside their differences, because now, they have a common enemy. That's what I kind of expect to happen in Halo 2, anyway. Maybe that's why the Arbiter is a good guy.

Anyway, I can't say I expected THAT to be Keyes's fate. Pretty gruesome. And significant, considering this makes the first time the game has made me feel some kind of emotion, 'cause I honestly expected him to make it out of there. Oh well.

For multiplayer, it's the sniper.
For single player, it depends on what level and difficulty.  Usually the primary precision weapon: pistol (BR in later games).
