That or Halo PC. The retexturing is kind of a mess with collision, but it's stable at least.

Then yet again I have the 360 version of Halo Anniversary, maybe it's improved on the Xbone.

CEA looks pretty great for a remaster from 2011..

From a distance, everything looks great, sure. Up close, however, there's something I can't quite put my finger on, that looks a bit out of place. Some of the Character Models in particular (I think they were just ripped from Reach) also look a bit too bulky, and there are parts of the scenery which don't match the original, making for a few invisible walls on the terrain, here and there.

At a distance, there are a few areas that would certainly make good Computer backgrounds, but CMT's mods for Halo CE look a lot better.

Geometry not matching perfectly isn't even an issue either, unless you're walking up to every single centimeter of the environment to see what matches and what doesn't.

Halo CE's and 2's look original models look like utter trash. H2A has fantastic models. Halo 3's are just flat out dumb (much like the rest of the game).

Depends on what models you're looking at. I've got models of most Reach assets in Gmod. I happened to be taking a peek at marines/army troopers the other day and found that I appreciated all the little details put into them. As far as actual normal humans go, Reach did a good job with marines and their armour.

Even though the Sangheili look fucking stupid in Halo 3, I am really quite a fan of the 3/ ODST Jiralhanae.

But yeah, Reach, Wars and H2A takes the cake for the other species. To be honest, I don't see te problem with the Halo 4 Kig-Yar. And I've started to come around to the new Sangheili, though I wish they'd have made Thel's faction more H2A-like in Halo 5 to represent the difference between both factions.

The Reach skins didn't quite fit using the CE Biped's animation is what I'm getting at. As a result, some Marine Bipeds looked really fat, and the Elites in particular looked like they were hunched over a lot more than usual. Not something that detracts from the art style of the models themselves, but nonetheless, it just looks slightly out of place.

You're greatly downplaying the Geometry mismatching and you know it. But let's forget, for a moment, that you never fail to exaggerate points you argue for, and completely dismiss everything you have even the slightest contention with.

While not exactly problematic in this instance, unless someone is going for the fastest possible speedrun on Anniversary's graphics, you can see that, despite the differing angles in screenshots, there is a sizeable difference there.

I don't have too strong an opinion over it, but imo, the small details tend to compound into something that doesn't quite look right, in the otherwise visually appealing bigger picture of the Remaster.

That's because the game is still using the original collision system of the classic engine. if you play it in classic mode it will make sense.

The geometry isn't nearly as big of an issue you're making it out to be.
It'd look significantly worse if the textures were slapped onto the already existing geometry.

If Saber were allowed to make changes to the game other than updating it visually, then there wouldn't be an issue.
But 343 made the decision not to let them because "m-muh halo needs to stay the same" mentality of the retarded fanbase.

Like I said, unless you're inspecting every little bit of wall, it's literally a non-issue.

Not much to say here, other than I agree. In many cases, the fanbase (and not just of Halo) needs to take its nostalgia glasses off, or just come to terms with the fact that they deliver terrible feedback to Game devs.

Dude, the Elites are no more hunched than they are in CE, Reach, Wars, 2/2A, 4 and 5.
Elites have always had a hunch. The only time they're straight up is when they aren't in combat.
