Yeah, a lot of them seem to think it's way too fast.

I don't feel the same way for the most part, though they bring up some valid points, like the giant being killed off in about ten seconds. Though someone in that thread brought up Medieval II having the best pacing, but I honestly felt its battles were some of the most tedious of the series.

yeah i thought the giant troll fell quickly too, i mean it's a mini boss it shouldn't be like that. i also agree with you about medieval 2, i've put in a couple hours into it and i pretty much auto resolve the battles because they're quite the chore.

About the whole slayers vs giant thing, I haven't seen it yet but off the top of my head for Warhammer lore the uh slayers refer to the fanatic/psychotic dwarfs who specialise in murdering seven shades of shit out of giants.

So that the giant managed to kill 16 of them before they brought it down sounds about right. It's a hard counter definitely, but I imagine a giant can maul through a regiment of imperial riflemen like a yank with a cheeseburger.
