Mass Effect 1?
Go for Soldier in your first run, that or Vanguard.
Adept is really great once you hit the high levels, you're basically a jedi without a sword. Best way to experience it is to choose it for a NG+

vanguard is fun as hell in ME 1.

Combat is great, man. 

Well, pressing the back button to throw grenades is a little weird but other than that the gunplay is solid.

It breaks really easily, especially if you're an adept.

As a soldier I can easily become perma invincible and use gun mods to essentially make the best AR in the game a 100% accurate never ending bullet hose. As and adept the most dangerous thing to me is a couch due to the fact that it can block my exit and I wont be able to move it once all the enemies are dead.

That's how I played through the series. I like Sentinel because you're a mix between Soldier, Engineer, and Biotic all in one class.

Play 2, it's actually good, it just drops any customisation and the dialogue wheel becomes a fork.
