Mostly because so few enemies have shields, and those that do generally don't have much or there are better ways to get around them.  I mean, I'm not saying don't use impact weapons.  I use the cernos and twin vipers because I like they way they look on Banshee and Valkyr lol

Oh the corpus with the shotguns will always be a pain, and they're worse in the void.  But there isn't really a whole heck of a lot I can recommend, at least for mods, cuz I only have a handful of good mods and I'm still trying to learn.  But the Tonkor is great for crowd control.

Progress was limited today, I only got a few hours in. Still going to keep playing but here's the updated stats:

Additionally, I joined the Arbiters of Hexis and got to the Principled Rank. I also have a Boltor, Clan Key and a Heat Sword in the foundry. I've unlocked Phobos and Sedna as well.

My plan from here on out is to farm for Oberon parts for the blueprint, and work my way towards completing every mission and quest. Once I have sufficient weapons and gear, I plan on farming for the Loki Prime parts in the Void. I have my eyes on the Hexis Syandana as well, but that's a ways off.

On damage types

-Slash could be considered the best base type, best against flesh (red health bar), procs cause bleeding for a few seconds
-Puncture is good against ferrite armor which is what low level grineer have, procs decrease damage
-Impact is the least useful, only good against shielded enemies, procs stagger

Elemental combination wise

-Corrosive is best against armored targets (includes ancients), procs decrease armor and can strip armor permanently increasing damage of other types against the enemy.
-Radiation is best against alloy armor which is what heavy grineer have excluding heavy gunners, procs cause confusion which makes enemies attack confused targets
-Magnetic is best against shielded enemies, procs remove a percent of shields for a few seconds
-Blast is good for shields and other enemies provided you have a good status chance, procs cause AoE knockdown
-Viral is good against grineer, procs remove a percent of health for a few seconds
-Gas is best against infested, procs cause AoE gas damage. 'Damage over time'

Survival IV its Zephyr, Trinity, Mirage or Nyx P with Boltor P, Soma or Opticor

I obtained my first archwing parts but I need to get to Uranus for specific parts on the Systems. I have my eyes on the Soma when I reach mastery rank 6, after I max rank my Sobek.
