It's one of those games that you watch and it's like wow this is lame and then you play it and die and don't want to stop

More games need a death punishment system. Dark souls does it well and Mordor does it amazingly well

No, it's rare that a game is so exceedingly good that it just does not ever get boring, but SoM is genuinely that good.

The nemisis system makes this game. Otherwise it'd be fairly forgettable.
I've never hated an NPC so much before.

Agreed. Even in Halo something like this can work. The elite or whatever that killed you can remember it and make remarks about killing a spartan just like you.

Agreed. This one captain in my game kept raping me. Every battle we fought he killed me in seconds without the help of the Orcs. I finally manged to kill him be catching him on fire which he is afraid of. I do feel ashamed by the way I killed him though.

Nemesis system definitely needs to be expanded upon. Imagine something like that in a Bethesda game.

It would work well. When you die you can simply come back to life in the same type of way due to magic and some god. You can load a save but your death would still have an impact on the world.

What about it is gimmicky? The character you play as is basically a ghost that comes back to live each time you die. So it makes sense having your death impacting the game world.

Well, I guess not really gimmicky. It just doesn't look as good as everyone says it is.
