Halo 2 was the least skill intensive Halo. CE was a much better game.
Skill cap should be an irrelevant factor. CE's campaign was terrible.

We're talking about competitive shooters in this context so no, skill cap is an extremely important factor and campaign has nothing to do with it.

CE was much better but H2 wasn't the least skill intensive. There's a consensus among my pro scene contacts that H2 is probably third out of all of them, CE>5>2>3=ZBNS (room for argument)>4>Vanilla Reach.

Well, LC's post seemed to be in response to CMD's post, which brought up campaign elements as well. If you're going to talk about which games belong in a hall of fame--which is this thread's purpose--you have to focus on all aspects of the game, not just the competitive ones. Hence my response.

If LC wasn't trying to say that Halo: CE belongs in the HoF based on its skill cap, then that's my bad.

A game that practically aims the weapons for you has no business being anywhere near the top. Anyone who places Halo 2 that high is purely doing it out of nostalgia.

We can talk about how the campaign was an unfinished and buggy mess with a major plotline that went completely nowhere and a tagline that puts the marketing for halo 5 to shame with just how blatantly false it was too. Halo 2 is probably on par with Reach when it comes to the worst Halo game.
