every single code that you input will change the game in some way
there are just some codes that do more substantial things than others, and those are the codes that get published in books

it's common knowledge that that's how it works in games like Metroid
the "justin bailey" password wasn't manually put into the game for the express purpose of cheating

it just so happens that when you put that code in, you are given almost everything

not to mention, a lot of old PS2 games had in-game cheats where you could change the aesthetic of the characters
like, a common gag was the "big head" mode, where every single character model is given a bigger head

which isn't going to help you beat the game at all

Cheat codes aren't exclusively things that give you an advantage. They can be silly cosmetic changes or some shit, which technically aren't cheats.

Mods can be "cheats", but that doesn't make every single mod a cheat.
Making it look better, adding more content and fixing it aren't cheats in any sense.

How is using a mod that restored deleted content like in KoTOR 2 cheating? How is using a mod like the 1918 mod for BF1942 which is WW1 styled cheating? Come on Verb let it out. I'm thinking the reason why you hate mods so much is because your dad touched you as a child. He was using a mod while he molested you and that's why you hate mods. It's because they bring out that painful memory.

Their idea of fun could be travelling the world of Skyrim as a Spartan from 300 - which they could pretend to do with the closest looking armour (which is not stupid IYO) or with the actual textures to bring it more to life ( which is).
I don't get that.

As I said before the reason why it got deleted is because Lucasarts out of nowhere cut the deadline on the developers. It's the same case with Halo 2. Microsoft decided to have a far earlier release date which resulted in Bungie having to redue the whole game or scrape most of it.

I don't see why people are up in arms about the whole thing. Yeah you should play the game for what the devs put into it and appreciate it, but modders put a lot of work into them too. If you love a game, mods can add more things to do so you can play it longer. One argument I don't get is "play the game the way it was meant to be played".
