That's because R/4 are different to te rest. And because, logically, Halo fans play Halo, so tey didn't like them and people who don't buy the games didn't buy them. It's a niche that there's very few people in to fill.

Halo 5 seems generally agreed to be pretty good though. I like all three.

Personally, aside from CE, I don't really enjoy the gameplay of the original trilogy. Maybe it's just because Halo 3 doesn't really change any of Halo 2's mechanics and I consider halo 2 to have a multiplayer second only to Destiny in the qualifying tables for shit gameplay.

Though my interest in Halo is the lore/ story, so maybe I'm biased. 343i is handling the expanded universe with much more care than Bungie (Because Bungie rarely acknowledged it's existence)
