But... the mode is unlocked in the base game too, after completing the Survival/Extraction missions or whatnot. Those are just extra maps, and with all the DLC too...

Nope, only a zombie wave on the last mission in survival. And that is just to end the map. All zombies stuff is gonna be paid content.
