Suggestions for good games to buy

I just beat the two indie games that kept me busy through the whole of March. Now I need some games to keep me busy until the holiday season. Give me some suggestions for good games that have great gameplay, don't waste your time with cheesy narratives and have great overall design and artwork that are on PC.

I have this for the Original Xbox. Fun game. Might buy the PC version too. The gameplay is pretty entertaining. Plus you have a lot of cheat codes to screw around with. Like swapping the player model with Mary Jane and whoever.

One of the areas I'm not of much help. I like muh plot driven gaems, and don't play much on pc.
Civ V is about the only thing I can thing of if you're into that.

Transistor has a pretty unique combat mechanic, but whether the story is cheesy or not is probably subjective.
