Nintendo has shown off their partnership program for YouTube. Pretty much, you pay them and Google and you get your bit of the revenue. However, they have to approve your video and if its not to their liking then you wont be seeing it online bub!

Well this kinda sucks for Sceptile, I know he is working on Nintendo related stuff for the channel...

His eyebrows sparkling, his white beard hangs down to his chest. The thatched mats, spread outside his chise, spread softly, his splendid attos. He polishes, cross-legged, his makiri, with his eyes completely absorbed.

He is Ainu.

That only applies to videos that make money though, right? So as long as you aren't profiting from the video, it's fair use.

Besides, Nintendo has always been hard to work with. Just look at the hoops developers had to jump through to get a game on the SNES.

Not necessarily. YouTube is a business, and as you know, they can run it how they want. You do have every right to post whatever you want under fair use laws--on your own website. But YouTube is notorious for blowing out innocuous videos for... nothing more than having five seconds of a copyrighted song in the background or for wearing a small logo on a shirt. So yeah, videos entirely comprised of game footage aren't going to be very safe regardless of if they're monetized. It's a shitty situation, but it's been a part of TheirTube for years.

Indeed it has been. But its also very stupid that Nintendo continues to be the bigger black sheep when it comes to Game Vids, and not realize that this helps their sales. Nearly ALL other pubs and devs see this and they endorse and praise it.

I don't understand nintendos logic. The first thing I do when I start taking interest in a game I don't know much about us watch YouTube reviews or commentaries of it... If it looks good or people I trust to review shit say it's good, I'll buy it. it's free advertising

And now you will only see videos praising nintendo, so bye bye reliable information.

I'm referring to Nintendo's cut. I mean, if you're not generating revenue, you don't pay anything. 70% of 0 is 0.

And Nintendo is just doing what a few (much smaller examples) have done. I'm not saying it's good, because it isn't, but part of me doubts you'll be sued for not giving Captain Toad a lot of positivity in your Let's Play.

Not too surprising. They've been pretty backwards on Lets Plays for a while now. What you get with an old-conservative company.

Hope they enjoy cutting themselves off at the knee when it comes to free advertising. As youtubers have shown before they just won't cover Ninty stuff.

Nintendo already made enough money by selling their good games from Super Mario Bros for the NES throughout their Wii U games, i mean is this really necessary?

Yeah, definitely not. Bacon was a little dramatic there.

At worst, I'd imagine they wouldn't allow... I don't know, outright mockeries, or... maybe if you're swearing too much, they won't approve of your video. They probably won't even go that far.

Sometimes Nintendo is so fucking backwards, they have other policies and tendencies in line with this archaic way of thinking. It's a terrible shame

They try this shit every year. Those retards fail to realize lets plays help sell games. By doing something that decreases the amount of people doing videos on your games that affects the sells of whatever game they were going to to. It might not be much but it's still a decent amount of people. For example the only reason why I found out about and bought FTL was because of Nerd 3 doing videos about it.

Same here. Now when I'm thinking of getting a game unless it's something I seen before I go onto YouTube to look of gameplay for it.

It was his series that made me want to get Shdow of the Colossus. Never heard of it before then.

Then I saw it was ยฃ15 in a used games store for the PS2 and decided nope.

Even if they're fairly good with criticism, it also sets a precedent for other games developers to see one of the biggest games companies in the world doing something, and decide to do it themselves.

They don't really have any video you need to watch, but I'd recommend listening to them. Or at least the first one, there's been a few cases of the first case happening and the whole nintendo thing could encourage people to do it more :/

Your video got deleted. I Googled the URL and it's saying it's not longer available.

I fucked up trying to link it. I just spoiler'd it instead.
