A while ago when my account was compromised, and some mexican bought a shit-ton of games on it. Fortunately the charges were reversed and refunded, and XBL was able to get my account back and add a few M$ Points (I think it was 1600 and a free month of Live). What they forgot to do however, was remove the games from my purchase history. It still thought I'd "bought" them after the refund, so I waited a few months (in case MS noticed and tried to fix the problem and/or think I'd faked the account compromise), and then downloaded them. Most were crap arcade games to be fair, but L4D was nice. Also, they've fixed it up the glitch or it wasn't working on the UK site, says it's £89 here.

At least you got some free games from it.

In all likelihood you won't have your stuff taken away from you. This has happened many times over the past decade and MS just eats the cost every time.

I know it became free, but then they said it was the start of their GWG program http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-06-10-fable-3-is-free-from-xbox-com-right-now (funnily this article was posted three years ago today, so having Fallout and Fable fuck up around the same time is weird)

At least they compensated for you.It was a big thing when I did it. I'm surprised they didn't detect the bullshit. If they ever knew what I did, they would reset my gamerscore to zero and have my zone say "Cheater" but since this was on Games for Windows Live, they have no proof.

I was still on xbox
Playing it, time to get IP banned for something that wasn't my fault
So are people gonna get BTFO'd for downloading it?
