If you know, you know.
Is it's story better than Destiny 1?

Dina's dialogue really does make you cringe sometimes. No one calls their SO "babe" in real life.

Coincidentally the game picks up once you ditch her at the theater.

My gut is telling me you are better off not buying it or buying something else. At very least wait to get more info on the game.

Regarding Joel killing the fireflies, if I am not mistaken it's implied this isn't the first time they have killed some "immune" person. So while Joel's decision is still selfish (although simultaneously one made out of love for another) imo it makes it more palatable. The Fireflies aren't the smartest bunch.

All right, just some quick thoughts before I proceed:

Gameplay-wise, I'm already enjoying myself a little bit more than I was in the first game, accounting for all the streamlined mechanics and fine-tuning present. Combat feels a bit more satisfying, although I'm still getting used to the new dodging mechanic in CQC situations.

When it comes to exploration, there's a few more buttons to press, and a lot of the automatic interactive movie-style bullshit that I didn't like about the original has been taken out, giving the player more agency when it comes to things like sidling through tight spots and jumping over small gaps.

The chase scene where you're running through the snow from zombies was genuinely thrilling, knowing that I could easily have messed up and died, as opposed to the first game, where escaping is almost never a worry.

The game also looks very nice, but that's a given. I bumped into a tree branch once, and snow fell from it very realistically, which was neat.

Spoiler
I stopped just after the part where Joel ends up getting killed by this new Abby character.

So far, so good.  Not seeing anything wrong, but it's still early I guess. Let me know when something controversial happens, because I'm getting a feeling like I'm not going to agree with most people about this game.

So I just finished the game and I really liked it.

The intro didn't hit that hard, but I'll blame that mostly on spoilers, which made it difficult to become invested in the story early on. I wish they had spent more time exploring Issac's character and the sepharite Elders. I liked how Abby's story wrapped everything up nicely, but it did try too hard to communicate this idea that 'revenge bad' or 'actions have consequences'. At its best it's a neat story with (mostly) likeable characters who have actual development, and at its worst its an above average season of The Walking Dead.

I can confidently say that Dina is the most boring character and serves no purpose other than being Ellie's gf. They try and protray her as some sort of badass, while her dialogue makes her sound dependent and clingy. The couples interactions are awful at times and we don't get to see their relationship develop much, they go from awkward crush to straight up fucking. They did a better job with Owen, as there is actauly conflict and we get to see his relationship with Abby in more depth, though as a character he's unlikeable.

Spoiler
I was hoping for a bittersweet ending, so was not disappointed.

I thought the game started off slow when you're trailing around with Dina, but quickly picked up and was consistently good thereafter. Though there were a lot of narrative gameplay sections which broke the momentum and felt drawn out, would have much preferred if these were more streamlined or just cutscenes. The combat feels polished and fun, and exploration/scavenging is rewarding.

Abby was a great character, her parts were just as good as Ellies, and I liked how her playstyle was fittingly more aggressive. Oftentimes stealth is much more difficult to pull off, and you're ocassionaly forced into direction confrontations. It was a nice change of pace after playing through Ellie's story.

The game looks great and some of the environments are fantastic.

I was playing on hard mode and found it very easy, mostly only died to instant kills, and recources are still abundant. I would reccomend survivalist for anyone considering playing for the best experience.

7.5/10

Welp, confirmation from the asshole himself. Censors any opinions about the game that don’t believe his story writing is the second coming of Christ.

I hope this fucker gets fired the same way they did Amy Henning.

Just made it to Seattle Day 1 (Abby's perspective).

Still a really good story so far. Don't know what the fuck anyone is talking about.

i will say that some of the dialogue has made me wince a bit

there's a part where ellie's talking to jesse about how joel used to think he had a crush on her, but then she said, "i'm not into your type"

you know, instead of "you're not my type" like a normal person would say

Beat the game a couple days ago. 7/10. I echo pretty much everything Orion said in his little write-up.

My first YouTube video essay might have to be about how TLoU2 is actually good, and gamers are just pissbabies or something.

This game has a fully functioning guitar which you strum by utilizing the DS4's touchpad. Each string is designated to a specific region of the pad so that they can be played individually to your liking, and you can play thirty unique chords—all of which are named, so that even if you're musically illiterate, you can easily transpose anything you want in order to play basically any song.

0/10 game because Chad dies, though.

Can you play the solo from Tornado Of Souls on that guitar?
