Glad you ended up playing this.

I've been trying to get a friend of mine to finish this for awhile. I hope she avoids this thread <_<

I had a slightly higher opinion of the dungeons than you, but yeah, it's generally agreed among Zelda fans that the dungeons in Majora's Mask were lackluster in comparison to the rest of the series.

I wish you hadn't used the Fierce Deity to beat Majora, though. I ended up doing the same thing on my first playthrough, because I worked so hard to get all those masks and stray fairies (by myself without a guide, I might add), so unless you also went through the same struggle, it would've been a more satisfying battle if you just fought him regularly.

I remember recommending this game to you because you made this assertion awhile back about Dark Souls being the only game you'd consider to be a piece of art. Having played Majora's Mask, how do you feel about that now?

How did you feel about Snowhead in general? Like, the village and everything leading up to the dungeon.

Probably my least favorite part of the game. I thought the Lens of Truth was dumb, and I hated the spring water bullshit.

eh, i was just happy i didn't have to listen to his crying anymore tbh

I found Ikana Valley's healing sequence more poignant. Tatl even bitches at you if you try to disrupt the father/daughter moment.

the music in this game was, unfortunately, extremely lackluster when compared to the music in OoT.  More was done with simple melodies in OoT, and every time you played a song it felt like a song, not just like you were playing some half-assed melodic line.  Song of Healing is awesome, though, and most of the actual important songs were pretty cool, like Oath to Order and stuff. But they really mostly just felt like tacked on mechanics as opposed to organic music coming from the ocarina.

The music for the dungeons and everything was mediocre too, but the ambient touches to the Clock Town music on the third day are lovely.
The song that plays during the final six hours of the third day is probably my all-time favorite Zelda track.

I can agree that the some of the tracks are subpar, but when they're good, they're really, really good. Astral Observatory, the Milk Bar, the Giants' Theme, the Pirate's Fortress, Great Bay Temple and Stone Tower Temple being among the best.

If you liked Clocktowns music Theophany did a really good version of it (along with a few other tracks).

I'd say those are two fantastic starting points. Play whichever you want, but I'd recommend LttP.
