Should I bother getting a Wii U?

You know, for Christmas.

The only game I'd really play is Smash. I have no interest whatsoever in anything else.

I'm just part of this small Smash community, and they refuse to play the 3DS version now that the console version is out.

I bought the first Wii for Brawl and only Brawl, and I ended up purchasing a lot of its games in the future and generally enjoyed the console for what it was. The Wii U, though... It's... something else.

Thoughts appreciated...

Well, playing online is hit-or-miss, so good luck getting a stable connection. And the GameCube controller adapters are sold out in a lot of places, too. Retailers are sold out and the rumor mill says they're being discontinued as retailers are cancelling orders for them.

Depends on whether those two things matter to you or not. If not, then go for it.

Um... What is Wonderful 101? Looks kinda crazy, but intriguing.

It's a puzzle/action game, it's one of the Wii U's must-play titles imo. Gameplay video below, skip to about the 7 minute mark if you want to see the general combat.

If it's the only game than no. The system is great but wait until the system has more than 1 game that you want.

I'd get it if they play mostly online. i usually just play Smash with my friends when we're all hanging out so the 3DS version is good enough for me

If you see yourself playing it that much, it would probably be worth the investment. They're not all that expensive, anyway.

I probably wouldn't recommend getting a console for just one game. Unless the console was dirt cheap.
I guess the Wii U is getting there, but still seems like a waste to me.

You have no interest in Zelda U, or any other upcoming games? Usually my rule is a minimum of three.

Then yeah I'd say go for it. Zelda U and Smash should keep you occupied. Maybe WWHD as well.
