Because From is restricting themselves creatively by doing brand name titles over stand alone titles.

They have more flexibility to change and try new things in a stand alone title than they do a brand name title.

Because, while Demon's Souls isn't Dark Souls, it's still the same series. You could also argue Bloodborne is the same series too. Really, all of FromSoft's games have almost always been Spiritual Successors to earlier games. Like King's Field.

I dunno why people keep saying Dark Souls, because Dark Souls will end as a trilogy with the release of Dark Souls 3.

Also, I enjoy the main Pokemon series. Sure, they're essentially the same thing over and over again, but I find them enjoyable. Unlike CoD. It'd be nice if they tried new shit, though.

While Bad Company 2 had a really stellar and unique feeling multiplayer that was then reversed and ruined in BF3, I don't think BC3 would go well at all. The story was bland, lifeless, and merely an obligation to justify an updated engine. The game lost pretty much all the BC personality.
