Those are the edgiest review scores I've ever seen.
Quote from: Mistanosejob on September 05, 2015, 09:18:24 PMThose are the edgiest review scores I've ever seen.I think they're fair. I think his score for 64 was a little generous, and I would've given SMW a 10 (one of only three games I've played that I think are worthy of such a number), but everything else seems reasonable, if you ask me.also, i'm including your review of advanced warfare, if you don't mind
Actually tempted to record some MGS reviews with my own thoughts. What do I need?
Quote from: Big Boss on September 06, 2015, 09:27:56 AMActually tempted to record some MGS reviews with my own thoughts. What do I need?Written reviews are easier (unless you hate writing, I guess), because all you need is to extrapolate an opinion over all the primary facets of the game, but video reviews are a little bit more costly—both monetarily and time-wise.Ideally, you're gonna need a good microphone (any will do as long as your voice can be clearly heard) and a capture card to record game footage, if you desire (I've never had one of these, so I couldn't tell you which one to get). Then comes the editing software. Audacity is a must, and for the video, I always tend to use WMM... <_< If you want something more higher-end, I can't really recommend anything that you wouldn't pirate, which I don't condone, so... Google-fu.Speak clearly and enthusiastically. Make sure your script is concise and well-written, and that the game footage aligns well with what you're talking about (if you want to talk about a specific part you thought was annoying, for example, make sure to include footage of it on top of your commentary—this reduces your need to describe it yourself, and gives the audience a clear visual to go off of). Try to shoot under ten minutes, unless you really just have a lot to say.Don't say shit like "rate, comment, and subscribe" and shit like that. People will subscribe if they want to.That's all—you don't need anything fancy. Personally, a pen and paper is all I need. While playing new games (and old games too), it's important to take notes as you play, and maybe you can fit them in somewhere. If you're recording game footage, it's always important to keep back-ups of it, in case you lose it.
Did you use a pepper to separate different sections?
No, leave it up. Personally I thought my review was highly perceptive and quite in depth. I took upon myself the task of reviewing Dishonored with the utmost professionalism and I'd like it if people read my review.
... "Shitty"? It was a joke review.
Quote from: Mmmmm Napalm on September 10, 2015, 08:51:11 PM... "Shitty"? It was a joke review.I was scouring every inch of the forum in search of reviews I was missing, so I wasn't really looking at things like subtext. I didn't read very much into any of the reviews I found—I just put 'em up there. I wasn't sure if you were being serious or not.If it's a joke review, I'm gonna go ahead and take it off, then, all right?
I'm thinking of adding another review to my group of reviews. What should I review? I kinda wanna do Pokémon Shadows of Almia
