RTS recommendations?

I loved Age of Empires when I was younger, and I want an RTS to play for some campaign and skirmish. Which AoE should I get from Steam?

Planetary annihilation is a pretty fun rts with massive scale , but it's still in beta.

Have you tried Age of Mythology? I loved that one, like genuinely wanted to have it's babies love.

It's a shame, I can't find any RTS games like AoE any more.

I don't see AoE: Mythology on Steam, you sure you aren't talking about Age of Mythology?

There's an HD version of Age of Empires 2 available on Steam. (With multiplayer) You should also play StarCraft 2. Avoid Age of Empires 3 if you are a fan of Age of Empires 2's mechanics and you don't want the changes they made in Age of Empires 3 (where they tried to emulate the colonial age; read up a few reviews and you'll see for yourself)

I'll get Age of Mythology next paycheck, I got AoE II and I'm loving the nostalgia and stuff from when I used to play this.

Grey Goo (classic style RTS with CG cinematic that looks like those live actions ones)

I don't play an obscene amount of RTS games, but my favorites were Starcraft II and Age of Empires II.

Sins of a Solar Empire is an RTS that I love to play, it's really fun
