The angel agreed to trade a set of white wings for the head of another demon. Overjoyed, the demon killed one of his own and plucked the head right off its still-warm body.

The angel then led the demon to heaven, where he underwent centuries of the cruelest tortures imaginable. Finally, the pain was so great that he lost consciousness - at which point his dark wings turned the promised shade of white.

I played Morrowind after I played Oblivion and Skyrim. Once you look past the outdated combat mechanics and UI, it's an incredibly immersive game with an incredibly fleshed out world. Oblivion and Skyrim ain't got shit on Morrowind.
I can understand that, but it still factors into gameplay, and it is always in your face. Therefor I think it holds it back. That'd be like saying DA2 is good once you look past all the recycled dungeons.

Story was lolworthy and forgettable, but the game was still good.

Actually, scratch that. It belongs in the Okay Tier at best.

Origins was Mass Effect tier. Still a great game, but it's not the end all be all. Also, I forgot about DX:HR... That game was God Tier. System Shock 2 I never actually played, so I didn't rate it.
You should absolutely try out SS2, its got a lot of depth to it.
