His eyebrows sparkling, his white beard hangs down to his chest. The thatched mats, spread outside his chise, spread softly, his splendid attos. He polishes, cross-legged, his makiri, with his eyes completely absorbed.

He is Ainu.

The god of Ainu Mosir, Ae-Oine Kamuy, descendant of Okiku-Rumi, He perishes, a living corpse. The summers day, the white sunlight, unabrushed, ends simply through his breath alone.
Then why not just do --/10? Unless your goal is to get reactions, in which case it works.

you know i enjoy expressing contempt

but, really, all ratings are supposed to elicit reactions, aren't they?

if people feel the need to whine and defend their favorite game, i mean, that's their right
i don't aim to piss people off as much as i want legitimate defenses for why i should look beyond my initial prejudices

which... i have yet to receive good reasons for this particular case yet

It's more just a difference in how you view it.

You hate it because someone can fuck you over. Someone else might like it because it could add more challenge, or because they might stumble across something in the process, or just find it hilarious.

I haven't even run across anybody so far actually, and I've scarcely seen messages anyway.

i hate it for what it is

i'm a big fan of just looking at things as they are

and you can't really spin the concept of misleading messages and invasions any other way than "you get to take advantage of your fellow player"

if someone here can defend taking advantage of your fellow player cogently, then maybe i'll retry dark souls
and maybe this game, bloodborne, as well

but i really don't think anyone's going to be able to do that, because it represents something that i, personally, am ethically disgusted by

You don't gain anything by leaving misleading messages, and invasions are just PVP like many online games feature. Offline "invasions" are common in Dark Souls as a matter of of fact, more so in Dark Souls II. They're basically mini-bosses, except with far more variety and challenging since it's another person instead of the AI.

I mean, leaving false messages is basically just the "it says gullible on the ceiling" of vidya

yeah but i don't care

i already said--i don't give a fuck how obvious of a trick it is
the fact is, it's still a trick

and it shouldn't be a thing

It's a feature that people enjoyed enough for it to be present in four games.

Some people like to get tricked, or otherwise deciding to believe it or not.

which leaves us at square 1 again, doesn't it

why do people like getting tricked

that's kinda like spelling "logic" like "S-H-I-T"

i can see the appeal in games like monopoly, where you basically fuck your friends over
but if you're playing monopoly with your friends, you all already have this mutual understanding of how the game works

so even though you just got fucked over by one of your friends, you can just kinda laugh and shrug it off

in souls, that's... not the case

monopoly is like getting fucked over with consent, or forethought
dark souls is more like getting raped

which uh
isn't fun

I can't really day, I'm no expert of the mind. But I will say that the only time I've died from a message was because I stopped paying attention to my surroundings while reading one. Well, that and jumping down a long way to read one and getting stuck and having to homeward bone out.

Not to say that you can't get killed from them, but I just haven't encountered anything that would make it a burden instead of helpful. If you really doubt the authenticity, look for one with a dozen or more likes. Fakes get down voted to oblivion.

Why can't you laugh and shrug it off? Every Souls game gives you the chance to recover lost souls/echoes, which is more than monopoly does. If it's payback you want, you can always look up the player's SL/location on their player card and invade them.

i mean, that's all well and good
i'm glad that the game has more measures to prevent that shit

but that's not my point, which i'm sure you're aware of

you're right--if the feature has remained in all four games, then it was obviously well-received
so that basically means that the community is pants-on-head retarded

or they just have high tolerance for stupid shit

i just don't

I know that this is already an understood notion

But different people like different things. I don't know how to explain it in a way that would satisfy you, and there's the possibility that there isn't one. It's just not something that appeals to you.

You already understand that, too; you basically said it on the page before. I wish that I could make everything perfect and have you like it, but I can't. There's nothing wrong with disliking them though, there definitely are some flaws with the games; primarily with framerate, easily abused items, or repetitive AI placement.

Why can't you laugh and shrug it off?
because i'm just in a different state of mind when i'm playing video games
than when i'm playing board games with friends

board games are just kinda silly
i take video games a little more seriously

because i'm alone, i'm focused, and i'm playing to win, instead of playing to have fun
(not that i can't have fun in this mindset--but my fun is derived from being in that mindset, you dig?)

that's just... how i play video games, and that's not gonna change

not to mention, the game was sort of uh *cough* built up for me
i didn't expect it to be a game of monopoly--i was expecting a little more than that
you know what i mean?

lol

that's like telling me to start smoking or something
to blow smoke in the faces of people who have done the same to me

like... nah

well, i'm glad
you're the first person to really admit that to me

i'm not glad because i ended up being "right" in the end--it's not like i want to dislike the game
but it's refreshing when someone can just admit, "maybe not everyone has to like this game, just because i do"

"Ornate chandeliers suspended from a vaulted ceiling lit the spacious chamber; Jack tilted his gaze overhead and noticed how far away they were.  His thoughts wove around those bright lights, like a dance of ether masses spiraling in precious unison. Why must we try to clutch desperately for the mere threads of this world when we can clasp onto a tapestry of untold magnificence beyond this plane of existence?"
it's ok

PvP in this game is something I'm really not enjoying like I did Dark Souls 1 and 2. I could go on a long rant, but to keep it short, I'll just say the mechanics feel PvE first, with PvP being an afterthought.

The PvP gets killed by the lack of weapon, and overall build diversity IMO

I only have 3 complaints with this game

Lack of weapon diversity

Lack of interesting drops from enemies

Insight is a stupid system, especially when the servers are borked

That's not my problem, so much as to me it's just a bunch of flailing, hoping your strike hits, and then tapping circle rapidly and dodging. I feel like it moves too fast to be tactical in the slightest. At least in Dark Souls you had to plan out some things. I feel a lack of that in this game.
