Currently playing Colosseum again for the first time in years. I have a Flygon on my team who is pretty good, but....

Sand Tomb is a terrible move with poor accuracy and power. I don't want to use Earthquake because it'll kill my Raikou! I miss having Earth Power or Bulldzoe.

In addition, the fact that it doesn't learn Dragon Claw by levelling up in Gen 3 is FUCKING DUMB. Why the hell not? Why do I have to be stuck with Dragon Breath for most of the game, until I get the TM in the Deep Colosseum? ARGH.

Festival Plaza is an atrocious replacement for the PSS that should not exist because it just pisses me off. Maybe if both the plaza and PSS were in the game I wouldn't have minded, but as someone who just wants to do things like trade or battle, all the gimmicky shit in there is just obtrusive and it actively puts me off playing Gen 7. Jesus christ, between this and making breeding even more annoying it feels like Gamefreak took a big step back with these games.

It did feel super rewarding to get it, I wish I played around with it a bit more in Colosseum rather than putting it in Emerald straight away.

It did feel super rewarding to get it, I wish I played around with it a bit more in Colosseum rather than putting it in Emerald straight away.

I now have a GBA, R/S/E and the Gamecube Link cable so I want to get the most out of the games that I can, there's so much to do! Actually going to try and tackle the battle frontier this time so there's gonna be a lot of trading between RSE/Colo/XD

I've come to the unfortunate conclusion that Aggron is kind of terrible for an in-game RSE team.

You'd think it would get some decent attacks to go with its typing, but let's see...

For steel it has Metal Claw and Iron Fai-... I mean Tail. Metal Claw is... okay, not much damage but it has a chance to raise your attack every time you use it, so it can be useful I guess. Iron Tail has good damage but it will miss. It will miss every single time. I think honestly you'd be better off going with Metal Claw if you really want a Steel move. It's a shame Iron Head wasn't a thing at the time.

For Rock, it has... uhhh.. Well it doesn't learn any by levelling up. You can teach it Rock Tomb, or wait until you've finished the game to teach it Rock Throw via Tutor in the Battle Frontier. Thanks a lot, Gamefreak.

It sucks because Aggron has always been one of my favorites and it only just hit me that it kind of sucks in the gen it was introduced in. Still, I taught my Lairon Rock Smash and it was my star player against Wattson and Norman...
