They showed a clip of one fighting an arcanine and it outsped. Some of the Nerds on serebiil concluded it would have to have 95 base speed but I'm skeptical because that's pretty high for a first evo Pokemon you can get early on. Probably some super training and nature stuff going on

all I can think of is Scyther>scizor which is more of a horizontal shift than an evolution and ninjask>shedninja which is a gimmick

Bruxish will likely be slow as shit to balance it out. Competive speed would make it downright broken. I can't see it being much of a threat to the likes of Whimsicott.

It won't be fast, but it won't be slow to the point where I couldn't Baton Pass some speed boosts to it. I think the balancing factor will be a shitty movepool. It doesn't look like it'd be capable of doing much beyond simple Water/Psychic moves.

Then again, if it is slow, since it's a Psychic-type, maybe they'll give it access to Trick Room or something...

Trick room isnt a mechanical priority change? Or does it actually change the speed stats?

Well, it changes the way speed stats are calculated (lower number > higher number). The numbers themselves aren't changed.

Yeah trick room itself has -7 priority but it's effect is a priority change so it wouldn't be messed up by dazzle
