RSE will always be my favorite. When I listen to the soundtrack or play it, it just stirs a really happy feeling inside me that I find difficult to actually explain.
If it had the physical/special split it would be perfect. I feel as if my dislike of ORAS comes from not being able to live up to the hype and expectations I had for it.

The lack of the split doesn't really do anything noticeable in the main story so I'm cool with it.

It's really started to bug me with super heavy play of Gen 4 and 5.

It is possible to add the physical/special split with wonders of romhacking, but I really don't like playing roms unless it's something that someone has made while basing it off Fire Red or Emerald or something. For the actual games I want the cartridge.

Tbh I might go dig around to try and find it, would it work on a 3Ds? My brother has a 3DS.

I doubt I can find it though

OT: Good review, I think I remember playing this game.

Thanks. Also, yeah--you should be able to play HeartGold on 3DS. Great game, hope you can find it.

It does, I was playing Soul Silver on my New 3DS a few hours ago.

Good luck finding it because HG/SS are great

It's really just the female trainer encounter theme (when a Lass or Junior Trainer♀ spots you in the overworld) with the melody and percussion channels turned off.

Edit:

Well, we're thinking of GSC, actually. Also, I'm wrong--or, whoever told me that information is wrong, because I listened to both themes, and they don't match up at all. The print theme does sound like a stripped-down version of another already-existing song, though. I don't really care to sift through each song to find out which, but whatever. S'yeah.

A salt Rifle
I don't get it.
The sprite happens to have similarities to the main protagonist of Undertale.

Spoiler

Although it's short, this arguably is a better explanation than simply saying 'undertale autism' and throwing a fit.

We had Red and Gold when I was growing up I think, but because I was so young, that start game bit where you couldn't do anything until you got a Pokemon seemed to be impossible to figure out. It took me until Pokemon Sapphire to be able to get past the start of the game, so I had a bit of a sour view of Gen 1 and 2 (and Zelda II/OoT for similar reasons) growing up. I didn't get to complete a Gen 1 game to a significant degree until about 2012, but even then I got stuck at the Sea Foam Islands and gave up, coming back and defeating the Elite Four in Yellow version in 2014. It was fun overall but a lot of detracting factors in a game with such a reputation. It's like how The Legend of Zelda was really horribly polished, but ended up being a legendary game anyway.

You're out of your mind if you think OoT (to which I assume you're referring) was unpolished.

Nah, he's definitely referring to the NES original.

Was that unpolished though? There aren't many glitches and it was really well-received.

Yeah, I probably wouldn't have used the term "horribly polished" to describe it, either--I would use words like "dated." I think it's undeniable that the game simply hasn't aged as well as its progeny.

While it's remarkable that the game doesn't have any major glitches, the game still suffers heavily from "why-would-you-play-this-when-you-could-be-playing-this-much-better-and-more-updated-version" syndrome, which I think would make it more analogous to the original Pokémon games in that sense.
