Now that I've got your attention, I was thinking of picking up Omega Ruby. I never played the original 3rd gen, so how badly have I missed out? I'm leaning towards OR because Groudon seems way cooler: is there a more legitimate reason why I should grab AS instead?

I hear there's way too much water, which is okay, because I buy my games solely for how good the water looks.

there is not too much water--that was one reviewer's opinion that everyone makes fun of because she gave the game a 7.8/10 based off of that alone (oh, and the fact that the game has like, eight HMs--which is a legitimate complaint)

Groudon has only one double weakness and no quadruple weakness thanks to his ability and type pairing. He's pretty good.

Otherwise I'm not sure of too many differences >.> aside from version exclusives, of course.

I like Gen 3. Coming off X and Y, the story is really enjoyable. The story section as a whole is just a ton of fun.

primal reversion nullifies his weaknesses, and that's awesome, unlike kyogre

Been playing Alpha Sapphire trying to complete my Pokedex.

OT: They fixed a lot of the issues that Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald all had. They made cities and people more interesting and the musical score is astounding. By far my favorite Pokemon game along side Black and White.
