Quote from: Verbatim on July 12, 2016, 08:07:15 AMignoring the whole gen 1 hate circlejerk, gen 1 was actually a pretty good start in terms of the pokémon themselvesThe only thing I could understand with gen 1 hate is the boring landscape, not so much the Pokemon. Sure they're not as creative as gen 3 and so on, but some are insanely iconic and hold a lot to my childhood. For an entire new universe, it's a feat they could do that with 151 creatures.Imagine the concept art from early ideas. Must have been a nightmare.

Must have been a nightmare.that might be a pretty good idea for a video--"In Defense of Generation I," where i talk about some overlooked yet positive aspects of gen 1 that have been forgotten in a sea of bullshit, or maybe explain why some of the "bad" aspects of the first games weren't actually all that bad at all, and how it's basically just become popular to shit on what's popularhmm

Quote from: Naru on July 12, 2016, 03:55:45 PMhow the fuck do people run out of pokeballs?I live in a large rural area where there is no fucking Pokestops.I have to go 15 minutes drive to find one, 20 minutes to get to my gym and more populated areas. Most days I don't feel like going out that far.

Close to my house is a HUGE cemetary that has so many landmarks in it, they are all PoKestops. Went and farmed them yesterday, and came out with a Hitmonchan. BUUUUUUUT, today they posted a sign banning all gaming, due to people getting out of their cars, walking over graves, leaving trash, and interupting services.
tfw still no jigglypuff
Went out again and caught a Drowzee and a Krabby. My grandparents were in the area running some errands, and they spotted me. We haven't seen each other in awhile, so we had dinner and just had a nice long chat about our lives. It was nice.It also brought me downtown where all the Pokéspots are.

Just be aware that like any F2P game, it draws you in with easy stuff at first, but once you hit that level 20, things become a horrible grind to the point you're almost coerced into buying microtransactions.I'm really not investing 100% in the game until there are more features and improvements added to it.

Right now, I'm kinda just in it for the social aspect. I've heard too many fun stories of people having adventures with total strangers, and it sounded like too much fun. Even if it ends up being a passing fad, I'll still probably try to complete the dex or something.
