Bring lots of potions, it's not a good idea to underestimate the Elite Four if you're going in blind and/or if you're inexperienced. But your team looks good methinks, I can't imagine you'll have too much trouble.

On an unrelated note, my brother is telling me he's ~30 Pokemon away from a finished Pokemon. I just told him about the idea of a living dex, so hopefully he'll do that too :3

edit because 2slow

If you ever get the chance, I would recommend trying out what they call the "nuzlocke challenge".
It's a way to make the game a little bit more difficult.

There's two rules you have to follow (and you can add more of them if you wish):
1. You're only allowed to catch the first thing you see in each area, and nothing else. So, one per area.
2. If something faints, you must release it.

Unfortunately, you'd have to get yourself another game to do it, because >no multiple save files.
But that's basically the only way I ever play these days.

the one true God is Doctor Doom and we should all be worshiping him.
I don't understand the appeal of Pokemon. How is buying the same game with slightly different monsters again and again fun?

Yeah, it's pretty well rounded. Just gotta level it up a little. I already read that this Pokemon League has the highest level pokemon out of all the games (up to level 70 I believe?), so my level 55-65 pokemon could probably do with a few more levels.
I can't remember tge approximate levels of their Pokemon so you'll have to find that out. Bulbapedia is a good source.

Because the games are not remotely the same.

you have to be able to look past the big picture and appreciate the little things

I mean, the fact that each game takes place in an all-new region with different characters should clue you in to just how different the games are, but if you're unwilling to look past the fact that you still have to collect eight badges in all of them, then I guess there's nothing else to say

>post-game
>X/Y

heh

I mean, do you have Zygarde?... That's basically it in terms of post-game for those games.

The best way to catch shinies is to not use any methods because that only devalues them <_<
But I mean, yeah, that's one of the more efficient ways, sure.

Catching the three Legendaries and the Battle Maison are literally the only endgame X/Y has. That's why I always recommend OR/AS since it has a lot more endgame.

What does ORAS offer?
•The Delta Episode
•Battle Maison
•About 12 or so Legendaries to catch (some have certain requirements that must be met in order for them to show up)

I think I'm approaching that time in the yearly cycle where I find one of my Gen 3 cartridges, decide to give it a go and put heaps of hours into it, almost completing the Dex before an extremely unlucky event corrupts the save file and I leave it for another 8 months.
