Goodness gracious, great balls of lightning!
This can be anything from sound effects, art designs, or something you enjoy from gameplay etc.

I really liked how in MW2 when your gun had FMJ, the bullets would explode and make a different impact noise when they hit surfaces. The color of your bullets changed to red and the muzzle flash on your gun was different too. This made the guns I used feel much stronger, like they should be. Future CoDs that had FMJ in them didn't have this when your gun had the attachment. It stayed the same and that really disappointed me.

Destiny had a lot of neat little stuff, but one that stood out in particular is how (more noticeably on hand cannons), squeezing the controller trigger would correspond to your character doing the same on the gun, with the hammer moving as well. And it was gradual, rather than just a couple positions.

the one true God is Doctor Doom and we should all be worshiping him.
I've mentioned this before, but I'm impressed that the gas mask in Metal Gear Solid doesn't work in the only puddle of water in the game. Few would think of returning to the very start of the game just to see if it still slows the oxygen meter.

Each gun in Battlefield counts the bullet that's loaded into the chamber.  So reloading while there's ammo left in the mag will give you an extra shot.

A lot of artists that model Assassins Creed's landmarks spent years on just that to make them an exact replica (ex: Notre Dame in Unity).

The Warthog has a working speedometer on it.

I was literally going to say this. That was a detail that I literally went "Wow, that is pretty damn cool".

Enemies drowning if you knocked them unconscious in MGSV, as well as guards going under cover when it rained.

MGSV had a lot of details, like a shit ton. I believe one is like you can find a bear tape and when it will play it enemies will run away or if you play the all clear sound they will drop their alert. Also putting dead or asleep guards on beds made it so enemies never detected them because they appeared to be asleep.

In Total War (the newer games) if you zoom in, you can hear your men say some funny stuff sometimes, and hear them fart. It's funny, but I like how in games that grand of scale, they take the time to do the little things like that.

Any game (or sci fi, by extension) that uses real stars rather than making up a bunch of their own.

Best example is the Terminal in Alien Isolation, when you can see the departures/ arrivals board listing Sol, Alpha Ceti, Lacaille something, HD something and so forth.

In general, I absolutely adore alien isolation and, while not all big a fan of survival horror, the sheer attention to detail that has gone into building the world of Sevastopol Station keeps me coming back. Everything feels used and lived in; things are arranged in a way that seems entirely believable and you really do believe that this is a space station where people work and live. Everything from the terminals and notes and emails written by the people who live there to the work stations cluttered with pens, paper, calendars and so forth. Everything is laid out logically and the sheer amount of ways you can go about reaching the objective you really feel that you're exploring an open world rather than walking down a linear path. This is all compoundes by some of the best lighting effects I've ever seen in a game and superb attention to the traditional Alien aesthetic of gritty utalitarian design that I so love. Honestly, I could gush about Alien for days, I love the art style, the sheer attention to detail and I consider it to be one of the best looking games available right now.

Yeah. I can't play it for long because I'm not good with suspense and shit, but being as true as it is to Alien is why I keep coming back. If it were anything else I would have probably given up playing by now.

That should speak volumes about how much I respect the developers' efforts in making the game. With how Halo Wars 2 has turned out for me (I really don't enjoy it), I'm now just sour that CA hasn't been using the past two years to make Isolation 2.

While I haven't played witcher 3, I remember hearing about a bit in the ZP review where you're going to see the king or something and you have to trim your beard, have a hair cut, dress up fancy and stuff rather than do what you do in say, Skyrim, where you go to meet Jarl Elisif in your mud and blood-spattered daedric armour, eating six cheese wheels, hauling a dungeon's worth of loot and barging in on the existing war council meeting.

I appreciate that. Adds a sense of immersion to the world. I'm not all too intereated in TW3 but stuff like that I can really appreciate.

Like Im pretty sure Ive played at least 20 hours and Im still in the first main area.

Note theres kind of a tutorial area which takes a large time to complete  as well......well you can rush the story by all means, but there is so much content where you just throw your life away and play this game instead.

Oh....and on PC...unless you like choppy frames and large loading screeens

I do like in the BF1 showcase, how water accumulated on the guns when it started to rain. It looked so nice. They're using the tech they used on Battlefront (that photo realistic look. Forget what it's called, but omg it looks gorgeous) and it looks incredible.

DICE never disappoints. The Frostbite engine is incredible.

I really wish Respawn could have used FB3 in Titanfall 2. That would have been incredible.

This is one of those times when I can probably think of loads but my mind is completely blank so I'll have to really think, umm..

-Being able to poison guards with snakes and other creatures in MGS3.
-The credits in the newer Pokemon games showing the Pokemon you've caught and the battles they fought in
-The seagulls flying alongside your ship in Wind Waker

Tagging along with my point about alien isolation, encountering this bit made me have to stop for a second just for how amazing it looked, particularly for an Xbox One game.



When you see this with the flickering shadows and the particle effects and the electricity arcing in the background, it's really cool.

So in Xenoblade, the world is on the body of a Titan called the Bionis, and you can go to pretty much every part you see (e.g. you start down on one of the legs, you can see a shoulder if you look up, which ends up being a mountain you visit later on).

Also side note, I hate that the Xenoblade map in Smash Bros is called Gaur Plains because you can see the Gaur Plains in the background, the map should be called Bionis Leg.

Actually, something based on the above post that I do also like is in Dark Souls. I really don't care for the gameplay, but I do love how the developers take the time to make the skybox relevant. Like, if you see a tower in the distance, chances are you'll be going there at some point. That's nice and I do like that it makes the skybox relevant to getting your bearings and realising where you are in relation to everything else,  as well as noting how far you've come/ you're going.

Also in Dark Souls I do like that the way they handle the story in that everything is there for you to find. No hand holding, you have to go out of your way to find the lore and it's all open to interpretation. And also (BAsed at least off what I've heard/ read), the fact that all the heroes and legendary creatures you hear about? Chances are you'll also be killing them at some point as well.

It's a shame. I really like everything about Dark Souls in regards to its' story/ setting and the way the level design is handled, but I really don't enjoy the gameplay. The world itself is great and pretty original as far as western fantasy goes (I know its a japanese dev, but it seems more inspired by western stuff).

I liked that in Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, you could swap if your character was right or left handed on the go for whichever suited firing around cover best.
