Just watched the Kojima trailer and... OMG

I get the feeling he knows Konami will probably milk MGS when he's gone, so he's going to let folks pretend that V is the last canonical game.

Yeah, well... the only way I plan on playing any more MGS games is if

1. they look cool and get good reviews
2. they're remakes in the fox engine

both of which I will only buy used.

Best case scenario: Konami goes broke in the West and sells its rights to MGS to Kojima, to which he remakes all the games with Big Boss the way he intended.

I don't understand what you mean by this Like MGS 1,2, and 4? From his perspective?

Yes and no. I imagine the events of MG1/2 would remain largely the same (really it depends on how MGSV ends). But the ending of MG2 would be altered to have Big Boss survive and somehow apose Liquid in Shadow Moses, and Solidus at Big Shell. I imagine Solidus would be a pretty different character altogether.

MGS4 would be a different bag entirely.

Essentially, its a reimagining of the previous games.

I need to find the article where he talks about this. Its not just replacing Solid Snake with Big Boss -- its changing the entire narrative to the point where Big Boss is THE protagonist.
