MCC patch is up, 1.4GB, still not working

According to the fanboys at Waypoint, the fact that people can play without updating their clients is greatly to blame.

If it's true people need to get their shit together. I got into another uneven lobby and it was a 7v1 against me. I was gonna see what happened and waited. Apparently they wait till the vote screen to fix the teams so if that happens just wait. I got into the match and it crashed though :/

343i said another patch is already on the way. I'm glad they're working hard to get the game functioning.

We're at a point where that's not possible any more. I say that mainly for online experiences. And for the MCC, keep in mind that this is the first time Halo has ever used dedicated servers, and the MM issues may be arising out of that. Not to mention you've got a 4 (or 5 if you're counting MP) engines linked under a single UI. It's a first for the industry, and a damned impressive and complicated one at that.

They still need to fix the BTB player count. 14/12 right now, and people always end up getting kicked out. Also it is still freezing at the voting screen for me. This has happened at least five times today.

If I had to guess, it was a combination of a lack of coordination between the 4-5 devs while working under a 2 year deadline (they started late 2012). It is strange how elementary the problems are though. Like leaving in the ability for the host to kick or having more players than a lobby supports (5v5 in a 4v4 playlist for example) or games starting extremely uneven. I'm kinda surpised by all the crashing and freezing as well. Happened over a dozen times in just over a days worth of playing.

They did have beta testers. It's not like they didn't test it before launch.

I'm fairly convinced that the patch was like 1.39 GB of uncompressed audio files, and then they just added the "found players" and "connecting to match..." text, even if the game is like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My friend and I can't connect for some reason when we tried to do co-op on CE. : I I assume it's because of the server maintenance, because we can connect just fine and dandy to other games.

I saw three of the remastered Halo 2 cutscenes on Youtube and immediately spotted problems.
Then I get told I have a wrong opinion for noticing a bad job was done by Blur.

I don't mind people liking the games because they are good but this release is not excusable in any way.

Things are at least working now. However, in both mp and campaign medals are not popping up for me. I tried turning them off then back on again, but still nothing. Has anyone else encountered this?

Well, it's the first time Halo has run on XBL Dedicated Servers.

Coding can get wonky, and errors occurring in the process may be multiple parameters that for whatever reason, are leading the system to conclude it's acceptable to get uneven teams.
