Let's Talk About Destiny's Story

Okay so I've watched Destiny's story and here's my opinion on it.

It is absolute shit. The campaign is long, but that's because you revisit so many areas. There are hardly any cinematics which are good for character development, but wait, what characters? In Destiny you play as a nameless Guardian with about 3 lines of dialogue and an A.I companion with less personality than a brick. From what I can tell the Ghost has no real purpose other than explaining everything through its endless dialogue. But what about secondary character? Well there's The Speaker, he has about 5 minutes of screen time in the entire game. There's the mysterious Hunter, who isn't even fleshed out, then there's..um....yeah...

The entire campaign is basically A New Hope
>Special Guardian aquires power
>Travel across the stars fighting evil
>Blow up huge structure
>Attend a reward ceremony
>The End

How can a game that has been in development for 5+ years have such a lackluster and short campaign?
For those that have finished the Campaign or are currently going through it tell me your thought on it.

It would appear to barely have dialogue too.

So much monotone and no emotion.

wat? I thought it was going to be a story driven game, that's what bungie made it out to be. That's quite disappointing, the past couple months I've become more in interested story driven video games and the small piece we got in the beta was enticing, I wanted to know more about the world, what happened, why, and what happens now but I guess not......

going to wait for a price drop before i pick it up

Don't worry, story DLC's will be released for $59.99 throughout the year. Defeating the evil was just the beginning, now there is a newer evil who is bigger and eviler than the last one!

Well, I kinda spent $500 on an Xbox One, and then $60 on Destiny so I could play it with Vien. Even if the game was not amazing, I would still have fun with him. I was going to buy and Xbox One anyway for the MCC though.

I can't wait for MCC, The Division, DA3, Battleborn, and to play WarFrame.

I just watched all of Destiny's cutscenes (all 32 minutes of it), and dear god was the writing and dialogue cringeworthy.

The player character came off as oblivious to whatever situation they were in, the ghost just seemed bored, that exo hunter just stood around and I've seen anime characters with less angst than that Awoken guy. The plot itself just seem like someone copy and pasted the outline for A New Hope.

Well apparently the story isn't over yet. Looks like they're going to be releasing more free story missions in addition to the two expansions.
