I'm playing through this game now and it makes me so happy.
Are all Mario games like this?

What games inject you with smiles?

Not really. Mario games are colorful and cartoony, but not as frilly. Plus, they're a bit faster paced.
Yoshi's Story has the same charm to it, though, but has some extremely cringeworthy gushy moments.

Mario Sunshine, Wind Waker, and Paper Mario are probably my favorite lively games.

Uhhh i dont think ive smiled in a game alone. Funny bugs/glitches aside.

Last time i remember was playing the original Unreal Tournament with my friend, it was hectic and fun.

Serious answer would probably be something like Rayman Legends, I finally got around to playing it and I was having so much fun with it. Kid Icarus Uprising is also really joy inducing due to the conversations between the cast, the nice environments and fast pace. Also Kingdom Hearts.

Road Rash 64 is probably one of the most comical games with Violent combat mechanics. Many a laugh has been had from jamming a weapon in somebody's front wheel and watching them attain Light Speed in an instant.
