ive noticed that a lot of these older games have a pretty tightly knit community that seems to care about newcomers a lot

he was trying to get me into speedrunning the game with him and stuff

when i was playing diddy kong racing trying to get all the time trials completed, i had the same thing where people more experienced than i would drop in for tips and moral support

its really cool and the best part of streaming so far.

Most likely going to start Simon's Quest tonight around 5PM EST. I don't expect to beat it so it'll be kind of casual this time. I just bought a classic NES controller and PC adapter so I'm hoping to actually beat this game with the controller the developers intended by the end of the week. If I can manage to complete Dracula's Curse by the 1st of March I'll be a happy camper.

any time after 5 on week days should work out for me, and for weekends i should be free all the time (and my weekend begins on thursday)

i propose that we don't look anything up and only consult each other if we get stuck, because i think the game's cryptic nature is something that needs to be experienced firsthand, at least until we're both absolutely desperate

there's conspiracy theories about the game being specifically designed to sell copies of nintendo power back in the day

there's one or two ultra cryptic things that i know the solution for offhand due to cultural osmosis so i'll try to hold my tongue on those

assuming if it's not a hassle, you could even add a text overlay saying "NO HINTS" so that the viewers don't try to help unless you specifically want it
