Is Assassin's Creed any good?

I've never really been a massive fan, though I didn't really spend much time on the games anyway. My dad has Black Flag and Unity on PS4, and the previous ones are all really cheap in shops. Are they good? Is it a series I could get into?

I had a go of it a while ago and liked the pirate stuff but I got bored while stealthily following some guy. I feel like if I played the first few games I'd appreciate the more Assasins Creed-y stuff in it

the first game is pretty bad and hasn't aged well imo. And following guys is always going to be boring as fuck

AC 1 has aged like milk. Play it if you want to get the full experience but I can guarantee you will not enjoy it.

AC 2 and Brotherhood are probably the best in the series.

Skip the borefests that are Revelations and 3 and get a rundown of the plots on wikipedia.

4 is good.

Do not play anything beyond 4.

It's really hit and miss, and the story is a mess so don't play it for that.

2, Brotherhood, 4, and Rogue are worth playing. Syndicate is supposed to be good too, but I haven't tried it. They're all very cheap on the Steam store for the next 2 hours.

I actually liked 3, even though no one (understandably) did. It's got a shitty story, but the setting is really awesome, and it introduced the much more entertaining climbing mechanics.

I'm also from the area, so that was an extra layer of neat, though.

2, Brotherhood, and tbh Revelations wasn't that bad either. Black Flag is good though. Skip 3. Syndicate is the only other choice after that.

Every game but 3 is enjoyable

only problem with AC1 is its repetitive. The Ezio trilogy (2, Brotherhood, Revelations) are all good. AC3 was just meh

AC4 is arguably the best in the series

Assassin's Creed 1 is the best one, IMO. Though the setting of a game really makes or breaks it for me. That's why I also enjoyed 3.

But, by and large, no. It blows.

AC1 was great because there was mystery to quite a lot of things. They over explained things in the subsequent games however, and literally EVERY PERSON IN HISTORY was either a Templar or Assassin.

I think one is worth playing, but I think two is the better game. Far more like, polished in a sense, plus I think the story is more interesting
