Can't wait to see you fight Midir with SL1
YouTube

Enjoy. I think this boss gave me an ulcer.
Good stuff, hopefully people that keep trying to fight Midir by running under him and hitting his tail see this so they can stop calling him unfair. Looking forward to your Gael video
I tend to go for the tail if I'm running underneath him to dodge his attacks. All other times I just bonk him on the head. Definitely works for me.
I just see a lot of people complain that he is unfair and too spongey, but then they also never hit his head and always dodge towards him which is the more dangerous way.

People wouldn't have a problem with habitually doing this if the game wasn't so convinced it was fucking Bloodborne 2
What do you mean? I agree that Dark Souls 3 has a lot of annoying issues because of the Bloodbornitis, but I don't see what that has to do with Midir specifically.

He's so big, aims the fire spray directly at his toes and people try and outrun it to his tail, which requires basically perfect timing. Instead of just backing off slightly and hitting him in the head straight after. I mean that sentence right there is the entire strategy to Midir. Unlike other bosses where you just roll to dodge, with him you also have to roll in a way that places you in the right spot to hit him.

The fact that you can roll so many damn times in 3 is probably the biggest problem, you don't necessarily have to roll good if you can just do it like 8 time back to back, only certain boss movesets counter that, so people get through most of the game fine but then struggle with Champion Gundyr's rushing or Nameless King's delayed swings etc

I was stubborn enough to master the art of running to his tail lmao. Definietely the best strategy that worked for me, beat him first try on NG+ and NG++

Panicked so much when he finished his laser spam attack and I fucked up the critical attack on his head. I still have yet to actually perform it, for some reason I keep hitting his head in the wrong place or something
How many tries did it take you to kill him that way? I beat him on my 3rd try hitting him in the head exclusively, but it was a bit of a fluke, cause I wasted all my estus and he still had most of his health. But I managed to get him to a quarter and then the riposte finished him off.

A few, less than 10 I think.
